Get well soon, Hudson!

Wyatt's 4 month old cousin, Hudson, will undergo surgery today to repair a hole in his heart. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and speedy recovery!

Halloween!

Wyatt dressed up as a lion for his first Halloween. He did a pretty good job of playing the part, too, and we got a few "roars" out of him. We went around to some of the neighbors, and at most houses he was too shy to show off his "roar", but was a good little trick-or-treater.

9 months

Time is certainly flying, and every day it's becoming more evident that our little boy is on the brink of toddlerhood.
Some of his latest:
- waving bye-bye
- cruising
- stood on his own the other day
- babbling many consonants
- giving kisses
- "roaring" on command (he's practicing for Halloween)

Walk for CCFA

We will be participating in a fundraising walk for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (ccfa.org) on Sunday, October 7. Please support us in our efforts raise awareness and funds to further research for the cause, treatment, and (ideally) a cure for these autoimmune diseases.

Since my diagnosis and surgery almost 2.5 years ago, I have been fortunate to have my disease largely under control with medication (yea!). I do suffer some run-down days, but I don't have the chronic pain, nausea and fatigue that I had before. Compared to many others, I have it quite easy. I can't imagine having to go through adolescence and deal with this illness.

It has been over 4 months since my last ER visit, and I would like to make that a year - or 5! Having to take our very young son to the ER at 3am so mommy could get an IV was no treat...and I hope it never happens again.

Please let Chris or me know if you would like to donate to our cause. Thanks in advance for your support, and if you've already donated - we so appreciate it!

Pearly whites

Wyatt cut his first tooth at the end of July, and by mid-August his two bottom teeth were clearly visible. Just last Saturday he cut his top left tooth, and his top right is trying to follow suit (this has made for a cranky Wyatt...which is quite unusual, if you know our little guy).

Cheese!!

Hey...I think I can see them!

Wyatt at 6 months

Our little peanut who would curl up on my or Daddy's chest and fall asleep has outgrown that phase months ago. Now he is a sprawling, wiggly baby boy who can't get enough of what's going on around him. My goodness how quickly time flies.

Wyatt has been a pretty good traveller for us this past month. He has logged miles to SD, ND, WI, (and SD again) and enjoyed getting to meet more family and friends along the way (Hi everyone!). He hasn't gotten to meet everyone we'd like, but we have resigned ourselves to the fact that we just can't make it to everything.

Wyatt is now approximately 19.5-20 lbs and 28" or so long. He's been well-behaved considering the heat, teething, and passing around he's had - but he's more than willing to scream his displeasure when he's had enough, or is hungry or tired. He's got a touch of separation anxiety, but it is really only prevalent when he's getting tired. He's not crawling yet, but is starting to get it figured out...and Mommy and Daddy are in no hurry for that stage.

Here is some more on Wyatt at 6 months:

Likes: Books, the Jumperoo, the colors yellow and red, bathtime, his wading pool, peek-a-boo, and (so far) all of the fruits and veggies he's tried
Dislikes: Being cooped up in his carseat for too long, shots, Ritz crackers (see below)
Hobbies: Rolling/worming/scooting around, throwing things on the ground and watching Mommy or Daddy pick them back up (again and again...), pulling hair, tearing up napkins, grabbing anything he can get his little fingers on
Milestones: Sitting up like a big boy; Cut his first tooth this weekend; figured out that sippy cup!
Such a big boy

Check it out...he's growing his hair back!

Wyatt's first bite of cracker was promptly spit out

He's a jumping fool!

Spring/Summer Fun

It's been awhile since we've posted some Wyatt pics. He had some trouble picking which pictures he wanted to post. Some of Wyatt's recent accomplishments and activities include...
  • Going to the Minneapolis Farmers Market
  • Hanging out in is swimming pool for the first time
  • Using his feet to splash during baths
  • Grabbing Willow's fur
  • Roaming all over his crib during the night

Fun in the pool!

4 months old

Wow, where does the time go? It's hard to believe our little guy is 4 months old already. Wyatt is a happy, happy baby, and is long and lean. He's currently weighing in at about 15 lbs and is a good 26+" long. There's not much fat to pinch on this kid!

Wyatt has been in daycare for a month now and is doing great (mommy's faring pretty well back at work, too). He's tried cereal a few times, and is starting to get the hang of this new food thing. He's also quite the worm these days and we are no longer surprised by what position we may find him in in his crib.

Here is an updated profile of Wyatt at 4 months:
Likes: his Exersaucer, "The Itsy-bitsy Spider", the dog, funny faces and noises, books
Dislikes: shots, loud noises
Hobbies: squealing, talking, standing and "stomping", blowing raspberries
Accomplishments: sleeping through the night (yea!), rolling over both ways, grasping toys with both hands, sitting with support

Two Months!?

Our "peanut" is growing fast, as babies do. Here's a profile of Wyatt at 2 months and some new photos. Compare this month's bath photo to last month's...scary how fast they change, isn't it?

Sign: Capricorn
Weight: 12 lbs, 4 oz
Length: 24.75 inches
Likes: baths, faces, car rides, the alphabet song
Dislikes: shots, hiccups, going down for his nap (especially if he's overtired)
Hobbies: saying "gerchhhhh", blowing bubbles, flirting with the ladies
Accomplishments: holding his head pretty steady, smiling, cooing, giggling, bearing weight on his legs
